    DEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR PRESEVO AND BUJANOVAC ORGANIZED TRAINING COURSES IN PROFESSIONAL IMPROVEMENT FOR SECONDARY-SCHOOL STUDENTS0

    Thanks to the financial assistance of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, the Development Agency for Presevo and Bujanovac implements the project “Change Yourself, Go for a Job”. Two one-day training courses (on March 26 and 27, 2010) were held, which were intended for students of secondary schools “Sezai Suroi” and “Sveti Sava” from Bujanovac, as well as of “Skenderbeg” from Presevo. The goal of these workshops was to train the students in how to successfully apply for a job.

    On Thursday, April 8, 2010, the Serbian President Boris Tadic inaugurated the “Lece” mine in Medvedja. This lead, zinc, gold and silver mine didn’t operate for full ten years. Attending the inauguration was Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.

    On Thursday, April 8, 2010, Boris Tadic, President of the Republic of Serbia, is going to pay a visit to the municipality of Medvedja.

    The Serbian President will visit the Faculty in Medvedja, where he is going to talk with students of the Faculties of Economics and Law. Representatives of the media are kindly asked to be present in front of the building of the Faculty at 11 am at the latest.

    Belgrade- The municipality of Vrsac is the absolute winner of a competition of local self-governments in promotion of investments in Serbia, which was organized in Serbia by the USAID’s Serbia Economic Growth Activity (SEGA) Program. The second award was won by Leskovac, while the third one went to Uzice. The awards were presented to the winners by the following members of the Serbian government: Mladjen Dinkic, Bozidar Djelic and Oliver Dulic. In the “Invest in Serbia” competition, which lasted from March 1 to 31, representatives of 28 Serbian municipalities had a chance to present to the professional jury their economic and investment potentials, as well as to exhibit those potentials at  the investment fair that was held at the Belgrade-based Hyatt Hotel yesterday.

    Yesterday, the Red Cross of Bujanovac began distributing humanitarian packages to around one thousand most threatened members of the communities in this municipality.

    “Yesterday, the Red Cross commenced distributing in Bujanovac one thousand humanitarian packages to the neediest residents of the municipality,” said Bratislav Lazarevic, Secretary of the Red Cross of Bujanovac.

    Hans Ulrich Sudbeck, German Deputy Ambassador to Serbia, said during his visit to Bujanovac that the issue of political stability was the most important one to all potential investors.

    "During all talks with possible investors, a crucial question is always raised: Is the region politically stable? I could in all conscience provide an affirmative reply to the question only if all ethnic communities in Bujanovac cooperated with the governmental bodies of the country,” Mr. Sudbeck said.

    Presevo – As part of the project „Let’s Familiarize Ourselves with Our Rights“, which is funded by the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and is implemented by the „Center for Multicultural Education“ NGO, a second in a row roundtable on „International Conventions for Protection of Ethnic Minorities“ was organized . The attendees of the roundtable included Saip Kamberi, the Municipal President of Bujanovac, as well as around thirty or so secondary school students, who were mostly secondary school leavers.

    The Center for Mediation of Corporate Disputes, which was, last week, opened at the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Leskovac, should mediate in resolving the everyday issues among the economic entities in 13 municipalities of the Pcinj and Jablanica districts. Economic problems in South Serbia are pretty great, so that more persistence and patience is needed in order to solve them, whereas the Center for Mediation of Corporate Disputes should provide assistance with resolving them.

    As part of the “Delivery of Improved Local Services” (DILS) project, the Serbian Ministry of Health is organizing today in Nis a training course in the competencies of local self-governments in the fields of healthcare. The said training course is held for Presidents of the Municipal Assemblies, representatives of the local councils, heads and employees of municipal departments who are in charge of healthcare and financing from Nis, Medvedja, Lebane, Vranje, Bela Palanka, Dimitrovgrad, Vlasotince, Knjazevac, Zajecar, Kladovo, Doljevac and Blace. Participating in the work of this gathering will also be heads of health centers and institutes for public health from the aforementioned cities.
