A festive putting into operation of the water supply network in the village of Konculj, municipality of Bujanovac, the construction of which cost the total of 21.4 million dinars. The Coordination Body provided 45% of the funds for the project, the USAID 40%, while the remaining 15% of the necessary finacial resources were supplied by inhabitants of the village of Konculj.

Nenad Djurdjevic, Director of the Coordination Body for South Serbia, participated today in the opening ceremony of the third international agriculture fair in Bujanovac. Over 60 producers of agricultural produce, foodstaffs and farming equipment both from the country and abroad will participate in the fair, which will take place from April 7 to 9, 2008. Apart from the Preševo and Bujanovac Development Agency (PBDA), the holding of the fair was supported by the USAID Mission’s Economic Security Program.

A delegation from the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja visited South Serbia on February 17, 2008. Members of the delegation included President, Deputy President and Vice President of the Coordination Body Rasim Ljajic, Nenad Popovic and Dusan Spasojevic, as well as Director of the Coordination Body’s Office Nenad Djurdjevic and Heads of the Teams for Implementation of the Coordination Body’s Projects in Bujanovac and Presevo Sima Gazikalovic and Branko Delibasic.

Thanks to a donation of the Office of the World Bank in Serbia, the Coordintion Body handed over four computers to the following NGOs in South Serbia: two computers to the "Neighbors for Peace" NGO in Bujanovac, one computer to the "Green World" NGO in Presevo and one computer to the "Cultural Center" NGO in Medvedja.

With reference to a public competition for the posts of the Coordination Body’s Offices Clerks in Presevo and Bujanovac, which the Coordination Body’s Office publicly announced in October 2007, please be informed that after considering a great many CVs and conducting interviwes with the short-listed candidates, the Coordination Body’s personnel recruitment board, on January 17, 2008, decided to engage Mr. Seljami Bektasi for the post in Presevo and Mr. Driton Redzepi for the post in Bujanovac. On January 11, 2008, a water-supply system was ceremoniously put into operation in the local community of Trejak, which is situated in the municipality of Bujanovac. Mr. Rasim Ljajic, Minister of Labor and Social Issues and Director of the Serbian Government’s Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, along with Nenad Popovic, PhD, Deputy President of the Coordination Body and Mr. Nenad Djurdjevic, Director of the Coordination Body’s Office, Mr. Sima Gazikalovic, Head of the Team for the Implementation of Coordination Body’s Projects in Bujanovac and Mr. Branko Delibasic, Head of the Team for the Implementation of Coordination Body’s Projects in Presevo, attended the opening.

The beginning of reconstruction and modernization of the Presevo border crossing, so that it could meet the EU standards. The funds for construction and reconstruction of one part of the border crossing was donated by the EU, through the European Agency for Reconstruction, while the Serbian government provided the remaining funds. The performance of the first stage of the works, the value of which is around five million euros, is going to last 14 months.

Mr. Dragan Lazic, Deputy President of the CBPBM, visited the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo. He had meetings in Bujanovac with Mr. Nagip Arifi, Mayor of Bujanovac, Mr. Adnon Salihu, President of the Municipal Assembly in Bujanovac, Mr. Dragan Velickovic, Commander of the Bujanovac police Station, and with members of the "Together for Bujanovac" Coalition Mr. Stojance Arsic, Mr. Miroslav Taskovic and Mr. Goran Taskovic. He also had meetings in Presevo with Mr. Ragmi Mustafa, Mayor of Presevo and with Dr. Skender Destani, Leader of Democratic Union of the Valley.
