    NIP ASSISTS WITH CONSTRUCTION OF WATER SUPPLY

    BUJANOVAC – 59 million dinars are going to be earmarked from the National Investment Plan (NIP) for the purpose of constructing a local water-supply system between the villages of Samoljica and Borovac in the municipality of Bujanovac, said Saip Kamberi, President of the Municipality of Bujanovac. “3.7 million dinars were earmarked from the local budget for this capital investment, while the beginning of the works is planned for this autumn“, Mr. Kamberi said.

    “Telekom Srbija” a.d. opened yesterday its branch office in Medvedja, which is located at 38, Jablanicka St.

    “Numerous telecommunications facilities, such as the Internet for 1 dinar and cell phones at reduced prices, await the customers.  We have provided a donation, which consists of school equipment and didactic materials, to the children attending a pre-school institution “Mladost”, said Marina Tasic, Head of the Residential Customers Sales Office of “Telekom Srbija” a.d. in Leskovac.

    “Telekom” in Lebane

    The Joint Stock Telecommunications Company “Telekom Srbija” a.d. opened yesterday its branch-office in Lebane, where it presented a new concept of its consolidated mobile and landline services, as well as of a multimedia service. Apropos of the opening of the new branch-office, mobile telephones were offered to the citizens of Lebane at reasonable prices, and a 50% discount for subscription over the next twelve months was approved to them.

    Business Delegation from Turkey Visited Vranje and Pcinj District 

    Vranje – Businessmen from Turkey are interested in making investments in South Serbia, it was said during a visit of the Turkish business delegation to Vranje. Members of the Turkish delegation, which was led by Fikret Tanriverdi, Vice-President of the Industrial Chamber of Istanbul, had talks with businessmen from South Serbia. Miroljub Stojcic, Mayor of Vranje, presented the economic potentials of Vranje to the Turkish businessmen and asked them to invest in the Pcinj District.

    400 Tons of Tobacco in the Bujanovac Region 

    Bujanovac – The last tobacco leaves of this year’s harvest are being picked off in the  Bujanovac region. A bit over 400 tons of the industrial plant was picked up. It is estimated that this year’s tobacco is of top-quality and that it is much better than the last year’s one. This year, as well as during the previous few years, small-leafed oriental “prilep” and “jaka” types of tobacco were grown in the Bujanovac area.

    PROJECT „ACTIVE CITIZENS“

    Belgrade – Snezana Samardzic Markovic, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Andrew Glass, Director of the British Council’s office in Belgrade, are going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on the project „Active Citizens“. On that occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the British Council and 13 cities and municipalities, which will be participating in the project over the next three years and which include Ivanjica, Kladovo, Knjazevac, Krusevac, Lajkovac, Novi Pazar, Priboj and Presevo, is also going to be signed, it was said in the statement.
