Representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and of the municipalities of Leskovac, Lebane, Vlasotince and Medvedja signed an agreement on implementation of the Youth Achievement Program, which is to be carried out at several secondary schools in those municipalities.

On January 16, 2009, the "Center for Democracy and Development of South Serbia" NGO and the "Jugpress" regional information agency held the eight in a row meeting in Bujanovac. The topic discussed during the meeting was the current political situation in the municipality of Bujanovac and the problems created by the leaving of the Serbian members of the local parliament from the Bujanovac Municipal Assembly.

USAID HELPS COMPANIES IN PRESEVO

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) provided 20,000 US $ to the "Steel U"Company from Presevo, which is specialized in the production and fitting of PVC and aluminum-made joinery. This will enable completion and modernization of the company’s production process, the USAID said yesterday. The funds were provided by the USAID’s Economic Security Program with the aim of ensuring a portion of the funds necessary for purchasing four machines for the company, which will make it possible for the company to develop its production capacities, improve the quality of its products and get into new markets, it was said in the statement.December 17, 20080
