Vranje – The Youth Association "Our World, Our Rules" started working on the implementation of the project "Youth for the Reconstruction and Preservation of Forests of the Pcinja River Valley", which was financially supported by the relevant Ministry.

The aim of this project is to contribute to raising the level of knowledge and skills of young people in the field of environmental protection and implementation of activities for preserving the nature of protected areas for the purpose of improving the quality of nature and living conditions in the local community, while the target group is 75 children and young people aged from 13 to 18. The topic of the project is nature protection, while the fields to which the project relates are protected areas.

The project will include a seminar for children and youth, a three-day camp and afforestation activity.

As planned, 75 young people aged 13 to 18 from the area of the Pcinj district that are interested in advanced training in the areas of nature protection and preservation of protected areas will be educated. The seminars will be run by experienced lecturers in these fields and they will prepare an interesting, interactive and practical program for the seminar participants.

After the seminar, 30 participants are expected at an educational three-day camp. The most interested and most active ones will attend the camp, where they will have the opportunity to practically apply what they have learned, to better understand the importance of preserving protected areas, as well as all the potentials that the Pcinja Valley has. The camp will be held in the immediate vicinity of the monastery complex "Prohor Pcinjski" during which participants, with the coordination and assistance of 4 youth mentors and 2 professional associates (lecturers from the seminar), will participate in the planting of flowers and low shrubs, as well as in the interactive workshops on protected areas.

This is followed by a two-day afforestation of certain parts of the Kozjak mountain with mountain maple seedlings, the realization of which is planned for November.

During the last activity, as well as during other main activities, the Diocese of Vranje, which has always been open for assistance to and cooperation with the youth, will provide immense support to their realization.
