Bujanovac – Due to increased water consumption, water restrictions, which began to be applied in July, are still in force in the villages situated in the municipality of Bujanovac, so that water supply is, according to the schedule, cut off for six hours, said Iljir Taipi, Technical Manager of the Public Utility Company "Komunalac."

According to him, water consumption increased by more than 30 percent compared to normal water consumption.

Mr. Taipi said that increased water consumption occurred in the villages that were connected to the water supply system, where water restrictions were in force, while, for the time being, there were no water cut-offs in the city of Bujanovac.

“According to the water cut-off schedule, the villages of Srpske Kuce and Karadnik will have no water from 2 pm to 8 pm today. We produce water at the rate which is the same as always, 75 liters per second, but water consumption has increased, and we have no capacity to increase water production,” Mr. Taipi said.

According to him, "Komunalac" has, so far, sent water-tank trucks only to the villages situated around the St. Prohor Pcinjski monastery, where the water spring dries up in the summer, so that the inhabitants of those villages use that water for drinking and keeping themselves clean.
