UNITED NATIONS TRUST FUND ISSUED THE 24TH CALL FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS (DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 4, 2020)

The 24th Call for Proposals published by the United Nations Trust Fund is open to applications from civil society organizations that are at the forefront of defense and recovery from COVID-19, so that they could address and respond to violence against women and girls. The 24th Call for Proposals published by the United Nations Trust Fund is open to applications from civil society organizations that are at the forefront of defense and recovery from COVID-19, so that they could address and respond to violence against women and girls. The deadline for submitting the concept of the project proposal is November 4, 2020.

The annual call for proposals of the United Nations Trust Fund for the Elimination of Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund), available in six languages, is open to applications for multi-annual grants of no more than 1 million US dollars in English, French and Spanish. In 2020, as part of its 24th funding cycle, the UN Trust Fund will receive applications from civil society organizations (CSOs) that are at the forefront of defense and recovery from the aftermath of COVID-19, so that they could, in the context of the current pandemic, address and respond to a growing number of reports of violence against women and girls.

As part of this call for proposals, the UN Trust Fund will give priority to applications from women's rights organizations, women's-led organizations and small women's organizations, recognizing them as the driving force behind an agenda aimed at stopping violence against women and girls, as well as those in the best position to reach vulnerable women, girls and persons that survived violence at the local level.

The funding will be focused on providing responses and preventing violence against women, taking into account the intersectional marginalization of women in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and paying particular attention to the increased risk of violence against certain groups, including indigenous people, women with disabilities, elderly women working in households, as well as women not having access to technology.

Further information on the call and the documentation necessary for applying are  available on untf.unwomen.org.
