The asphalting of streets in the center of Bujanovac has stopped once again for unknown reasons, and when it will continue depends exclusively on the "Saba Belca" company, which, as a subcontractor, according to Mayor Nagip Arifi, has been working on its own initiative.
"The Ministry of Construction and Traffic, which is the financier of the reconstruction of the main street, has suspended the projects due to COVID 19, and the" Saba Belca" subcontractor has done what has been done so far on its own,"Mr. Arifi said at the Municipal Council’s session.
He emphasized that the local self-government had no authority in that project and could not impose any measures.
“Someone else is responsible. We sent a letter to the Ministry, but there is still no answer, "said the Mayor.
The asphalting of the section of the main street from the Post Office to the city park, after a delay of almost three weeks, started last Monday, and was completed in two days.
The machines withdrew again for unknown reasons, while Bore Stankovića Street remained without any asphalt.
The reconstruction of that section, in both directions, has been going on since August 19.
