Vranje, Bujanovac, Presevo – The number of hospitalized patients with pneumonia is increasing in Vranje, Bujanovac and Presevo, which shows that the epidemiological situation is still frightening, and that it has a tendency to deteriorate, said Sladjan Stankovic, an epidemiologist at the Vranje Public Health Institute.  

In addition to the increased number of patients with pneumonia, as stated by Dr. Stankovic, and conveyed by Jugmedia, it was also noticed that the number of first examinations in the COVID infirmary was also increasing.

Dr. Stankovic says that on Friday, October 16, out of 44 samples sent from the Pcinj district for testing, five were positive for the corona virus and that three new patients were from Bujanovac and two from Vranje.

The next day, as he added, out of 46 sent samples, the number of patients in the district rose to 10, of which two new patients were from Bujanovac and Presevo each, and as many as six from Vranje, making the percentage of positivity 22.

Dr. Stankovic emphasized that in the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the fact that the corona virus was dormant in most municipalities of the Pcinj district, such as in  Vladicin Han, Surdulica, Bosilegrad and Trgoviste, was encouraging.
