The Belgrade Center for Human Rights invites interested lawyers, as well as trainee lawyers, to take part in the seminar "Combating Impunity of Officers for Acts of Torture, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment and Punishment", which will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 5 pm to 8 pm, via the Zoom platform.

The Belgrade Center for Human Rights invites interested lawyers, as well as trainee lawyers, to take part in the seminar "Combating Impunity of Officers for Acts of Torture, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment and Punishment", which will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 5 pm to 8 pm, via the Zoom platform.
Presented in the first part of the seminar will be the current international standards in the field of prohibition of torture and other forms of ill-treatment, especially those arising from the practice of the European Court of Human Rights and the Committee against Torture and that are useful for representing victims before the Constitutional Court of Serbia and international human rights institutions. The second part of the seminar will be dedicated to the practical consideration of these standards, through the analysis of the position, procedural powers and duties of the lawyer – attorney of the injured party who suffered abuse, public prosecutor's offices and courts before which allegations of abuse were presented, as well as through considering the importance of (forensic) medical documentation in proving these acts.
