The Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities – the Association of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia (SCTM), as part of the program "Support to Local Self-Governments in Serbia on the Road to the EU – Second Phase", which is funded by the Government of Sweden, issued a call for the best media reports on the practice in local self-governments called "Different from Others".

The call is intended for journalists from local, regional and national media, while articles published in the period from January 1 to October 15, 2020 will be included in the competition.

The topics of the competition are: EU integration, environmental protection, improvement of the business climate, prevention and management of emergency situations, as well as gender equality and human rights at the local level.

By issuing the call, the SCTM wishes to emphasize the importance and role of local authorities in these areas, for the purpose of improving the quality of services they provide to the citizens.

A total of five prizes will be awarded within the "Different from Others" competition, while the authors of the best articles will be awarded by laptops.

The evaluation of the best media reports will be made by an independent jury, which consists of experienced editors of the leading newsrooms: Nada Gogic (RTS), Lana Gedosevic (Blic), Zoran Sekulic (Fonet), Vladan Samardzic (Evening News) and Srdjan Boskovic (Radio Belgrade 1).
