Bujanovac – The health center in Bujanovac will not be left without the only radiologist in the midst of the biggest strike of the corona virus, because Dr. Sladjan Dimitrijevic's employment was extended, even though he had met the requirements for retirement.

“We managed to get from the Ministry of Health the approval for extending the employment of Dr. Sladjan Dimitrijevic, so that he will continue working, "Dr. Daliborka Pavlovic, the Director of the Health Center, said.  

Two months ago, the management of the Health Center in Bujanovac was aware of the real danger that in November, due to the retirement of Dr. Dimitrijevic, his position would remain vacant because the Health Center did not have any staff members who could replace him.

Dr. Dimitrijevic says that he will continue working at the Health Center for at least another four months, with the option of extending his engagement as long as there was a need for that.

At the moment when Bujanovac is facing the most serious epidemiological situation since the beginning of the epidemic, Dr. Dimitrijevic comments that he believes that it was more difficult at the peak of the pandemic during the summer, although the figures show opposite to what is being stated.

“Despite the number of new patients, which is now certainly higher, I have the impression that the situation was worse during the summer, especially in July.  What I am saying is based on my scope of work. Then we had much more serious findings on the lungs and dozens of X-rays made per day ", Dr. Dimitrijevic said.
