Меdvedja – At the most recently held session of the Emergency Situations Staff in Medvedja, it was decided to repair the bridges in the territory of the municipality in accordance with an urgent procedure, so that they could to be safe for use. Bad weather conditions, which hit Medvedja last month, caused huge damage to a total of 6 bridges.

The floods, which hit the southern part of Serbia on January 10 and 11, also affected Medvedja, and as it was said in the statement of the Emergency Situations Staff, they caused great damage to the bridges.

It was decided at the session that it was necessary to urgently repair the bridges in Sijarinska Spa, Macedonac, Stara Spa, Svirac and on the Marovacka River, as well as the Concrete Bridge in Ravna Spa, which is located on the main road between Sijarinska Spa and Marovac.

Due to the floods, a state of emergency was declared in 16 municipalities in the southern part of Serbia, while the inhabitants of Medvedja were without electricity too. The municipality of Medvedja set aside nearly 2 million dinars for the damage caused during the weather disasters.
