The Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) published a publication with examples of good practice from 19 local self-governments covered by project activities within the project "Improving Administrative Efficiency and Effectiveness at the Local Level". The aim of the project was to strengthen the capacity of local self-governments in managing resources and improving the quality of services provided to the citizens in compliance with the principles of good governance. The project was implemented with the financial support of the German-Serbian development cooperation within the project “Support to Public Administration Reform”, which is implemented by the GIZ.
Project support was received by: Nis, Kragujevac, Pirot, Vranje, Sremska Mitrovica, Raca, Nova Varos, Mali Zvornik, Svilajnac, Bela Palanka, Subotica, Plandiste, Cacak, Vrnjacka Banja, Medvedja, Krusevac, Sabac, Sombor and Loznica.
These examples are not the only results achieved during the project, but the selected local self-governmental units were given the opportunity to present in the brochure the results they considered the most significant or most representative.
The intention of the SCTM is to show with this brochure and in one place the diversity of effects supported by the project and to point to the multiplicity of possible benefits achieved in different environments, both for local self-governmental units and for their citizens.
