The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Environmental Protection issued a public call in the form of a challenge for innovations in the field of circular economy.
The call refers to proposals for innovative and cost-effective projects, business models and technical solutions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at the level of local communities by applying the principles of circular economy, which at the same time have the potential to achieve other social, economic and environmental benefits for the community and the citizens.
The public call for innovations in the field of circular economy is open from December 1, 2020 to February 1, 2021, while local self-governments and public utility companies, business entities and civil society organizations registered in the Republic of Serbia can apply for it.
Applications are to be submitted exclusively online, via the website https://inovacije.klimatskepromene.rs/cirkularna-ekonomija/.
A guide with all the information about the public call, a manual with examples of good practice and examples of the accompanying documents are posted on the same page.
The authors of the proposals selected by the expert jury as the best will receive mentoring and other professional support in the acceleration phase, so that their ideas can develop into mature projects and manage to obtain the financial resources necessary to implement the projects in practice.
This public call is part of the preparatory process for the project "Reducing the Carbon Mark of Local Communities by Applying the Principles of the Circular Economy in the Republic of Serbia", which is expected to begin in the second half of 2021.
The Accelerator will start operating after the official beginning of the project.
