Medvedja – With the aim of  improving the social inclusion of marginalized groups of children, the municipality of Bojnik, in cooperation with the municipalities of Medvedja and Lebane, is implementing the project "Community is Built with the Heart – The Introduction of Day Care Service for Children and Youth with Disabilities in the Municipalities of Bojnik, Medvedja and Lebane”. The value of the project is 63,780 CHF.

The project establishes a model of inter-municipal cooperation in the development, introduction and provision of the social protection service Day Care for Children and Youth with Disabilities in the Municipalities of Bojnik, Medvedja and Lebane.

The service is intended for children and youth with disabilities, and includes support and encouragement for being self-reliant, according to their needs, desires and abilities.

At the same time, the project is aimed at raising awareness of the challenges and needs of children and youth with disabilities and their families in local partner communities, in order to provide a more inclusive environment for vulnerable groups of children and youth.

With the mentorship of a licensed service provider from Bojnik, the "Heart for Children" association from Medvedja will improve its capacity to provide the service, while in Lebane, a group of parents of children with disabilities will set up a civil society organization that will develop its capacity to provide the service. 

During the project, the day care service will be provided to 23 beneficiaries (8 in Bojnik, 8 in Lebane and 7 in Medvedja), while the parents, citizens and representatives of local organizations from the  three municipalities will have the opportunity to participate in three family conferences on this topic.
