PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF WOMEN’S BUSINESS ASSOCIATION HELD IN THE PRESS CENTER IN BUJANOVAC

Bujanovac – As part of the European Union’s, "Women Make Progress in Building Capacities at the Local Level – Gender-Balanced Economic Trends" project, business women from the municipality of Bujanovac gathered yesterday at the Bujanovac press center.

Bujanovac – As part of the European Union’s, "Women Make Progress in Building Capacities at the Local Level – Gender-Balanced Economic Trends" project, business women from the municipality of Bujanovac gathered yesterday at the Bujanovac press center.  

The meeting was attended by their colleagues from the Republic of Serbia, the heads of the Local Economic Development Office and by the mayor of Bujanovac.

On that occasion, the need to improve the business operations of the fairer sex was emphasized.

The head of the "Association of Business Women of Serbia", Olivera Pantovic, welcomed all the women involved in this association and thanked the mayor for his support. .

The mayor of Bujanovac, Nagip Arifi, said that the established association of women would always have the support of the local self-government.

The President of the Association of Business Women in Bujanovac, Fazila Azemovic, informed the participants in the meeting about the statistical figures, which showed a poor situation when it comes to women's employment in the municipality.

"Out of the total number of employees, 30 percent are women, while out of the total number of the unemployed in the municipality of Bujanovac, 49 percent of them are women," said Ms.Azemović. 

Adelina Brucaj – Hasani, Vice President of the Association of Business Women in Bujanovac, said that the association had specific goals for the business woman who had launched small and medium-sized businesses.

"We, as an association, shall encourage all women to confidently expand their entrepreneurial ventures", said Adelina Brucaj – Hasani.

Within the European Union’s project "Women Make Progress in Building Capacities at the Local Level – Gender Balanced Economic Trends", dozens of women's business associations were set up in several municipalities in Serbia.

Women's involvement in business operations in the country is a necessary condition for European integration.
