Belgrade – On April 8, 2020, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the latest measures in the context of the state of emergency relating to the curfew or the prohibition of movement in the Republic of Serbia:

– The ban on movement was tightened. It will run from Friday, April 10, 2020 from 5pm until Monday, April 13, 2020 until 5am.

– The ban does not apply to bank employees, as the banks will operate over the weekend, too, so that delays in pension payments could be avoided.

– Farmers, who will be able to go out and cultivate their farms, are an exception.

– The  ban on leaving home will not apply to retirees on Friday, April 10 from 4 am to 8 am, when they will be able to go out to do their shopping.

– On April 10, the payment of both parts of pensions begins, including a one-off financial support of 4,000 dinars .

– Pet owners will be able to walk their pets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 11 pm to 1 am, but only for 20 minutes  and within 200 meters from their residence, including compliance with other measures related to the gathering of people. Pet owners will also be able to walk their pets from 8am to 10am on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, said that the closing down of coronavirus hotspots, such as Belgrade, Nis and Novi Pazar, was being considered, as well as the closing down of large companies for seven or 14 days, but "we would have a hard time sustaining it and that is why we are not taking such measures yet," she said.
