Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja  – An order banning the gatherings of more than 500 people in indoor public places in Serbia has been in force since Thursday, which was adopted for the purpose of preventing the spread of the corona virus and pursuant to the decision of the Minister of Health, Zlatibor Loncar.

The order published in the Official Gazette states that during the permitted gatherings in indoor public places, all prevention measures related to disinfection, sanitary-technical and hygienic conditions must be applied, RTS reports.

"Gatherings are allowed in the open public places throughout Serbia, provided that the distance between people is at least one meter," it was stated in the order. 

At entrances for the audience, during sporting events that are allowed to be attended by a larger number of people, there must be a notice of the maximum number of people who can attend the event while the measure lasts.

The measures from the order shall last as long as the danger of spreading the corona virus in Serbia lasts.

The order entered into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette.

Minister Loncar issued the order on the basis of the Law on the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases and the Law on Public Administration, at the proposal of the Republican Expert Commission for the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases and the Institute of Public Health of Serbia "Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut".
