Bujanovac – The largest portion of this year's agricultural budget of the municipality of Bujanovac will be spent on tobacco- growing. The local self-government of the municipality recently decided that most of the funds for the development of agriculture, which amount to three and a half million dinars, would be invested in the renovation and expansion of the production of various sorts of oriental tobacco.

As part of the program of supporting the progress of Bujanovac villages, the equipping of tobacco – growers with modern machinery will be financed. The municipality of Bujanovac will pay 90 percent of the price of agricultural machinery, while the remaining 10 percent will be the share of tobacco-growers.

The amount of individual grant given by the municipality will depend on the amount of tobacco that Bujanovac farmers grow, as well as on the size of the land for the contracted planting of tobacco.

The largest amount of the municipal funds, after the cultivation of tobacco, will be spent on bee-keeping in Bujanovac, and it will amount to half a million dinars.
