The Serbian Prime Minister, Ivica Dacic, said today that the right number of people living in South Serbia should be determined, but the proposal about having an extraordinary census in the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja hasn’t yet been officially discussed at the government’s meeting.  

He said that the first Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, had already talked with the Albanians from those three municipalities and that he would do the same.

“Yesterday, I agreed with Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, that I, too, would do that in the following two weeks. We need to have an active attitude and there is no doubt about the policy that the Government of Serbia should pursue. On the other hand, there shouldn’t be any precedents when national minorities are concerned", Mr Dacic said.
