Bujanovac – Novica Toncev, Minister without portfolio, who is from Surdulica, says that bringing investors to South Serbia and building the infrastructure will be his major tasks.

Mr. Tocev is in charge of the development of the poorest municipalities in the new government, and most of the least developed municipalities are in the southern part of the country.

He says that the most important problems and needs of each municipality will be defined as soon as possible, so that the most efficient ways for solving them could be devised, the South Serbia News portal reports.  

"Each municipality has its own unique potential which, with proper guidance and leadership, can be the main carrier of growth and development. That is why it is important to set people into motion, find funds to finance the projects and provide circumstances in which each municipality can continuously work for the benefit of its citizens",  Mr. Toncev said.

The fact that the southern part of the country, where he comes from, belongs to the most underdeveloped areas, particularly motivates him, so the Ministry he leads will open local offices, but it has not been determined yet in which cities.

"South Serbia deserves to be the carrier of economic development, and I believe that through the support of the government and joint actions of local self-governments, but also of every individual who lives and works there, we can achieve significant and visible results very quickly," the Minister said.

He also said that bringing investors to the southern part of the country and investing in the development and economy was implied, and that good infrastructure meant a good basis for economic and social development.

“South Serbia is rich in natural and human resources, and that is always attractive to investors”, Minister Toncev said.
