Belgrade – Branislav Nedimovic, Agriculture Minister, said that three times more money for incentives to young farmers would be allocated in 2018 than in 2017. 

He said that the real results of those incentive measures were expected in three to four years and added that the Ministry would continue to support young people who wanted to be engaged in agriculture. 

Minister Nedimovic also said that the Ministry of Agriculture wanted to promote in 2018 the sectors of fruit-growing, vegetable-growing and cattle-breeding which, according to him, were the three most difficult branches of agriculture. He recalled that the measures designed for young  farmers were first implemented in 2017, that there was a lot of interest in them and that 667 people received  the incentives.  

"It was the first time that we awarded 10,000 euro grants, provided that each young farmer had to provide 25 percent of it," Minister Nedimovic said.
