The major of the municipality of Medvedja, Slobodan Draskovic, said that the municipality was ready to immediately receive around 2, 000 people from the flooded areas.

“We are ready to immediately accommodate around 2,000 people from the areas where their homes and apartments were flooded. We have the facilities and other capacities for their accommodation”, said Mr. Draskovic.  

He added that the municipality’s Center for Emergency Situations, along with the Red Cross branch office in Medvedja, were already collecting aid for the people affected by floods.

“Aid is delivered to the premises of the Red Cross branch office in Medvedja, while people are on duty from 7 am to 7 pm, and will continue to do so as long as it is necessary,” said Mr. Draskovic.
