Bujanovac – As of Thursday, a Government measure has been implemented to ensure that returnees from abroad who violate the measure of self-isolation and move around contrary to the recommendations of those in charge will be quarantined in one of three special facilities intended for this purpose, which are located in Vrsac, Pozarevac and Pirot.

If one of them seriously endangers another person's health, or even causes one's death, prison sentences are to be expected, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said.

“If the control shows that they have breached self-isolation, they will be quarantined. Additionally, if such a person, who has violated the prohibition of movement, infects other persons and severely impairs their health, he/she can be sentenced to one to eight years in prison under the Criminal Code”, Prime Minister Brnabic said.

According to her, if, due to the violation of the prohibition, he/she infects another person and causes death, the sentence is from two to 12 years in prison.

She also said that a quarantine would open in Morovic, with 500 beds, so that those who enter Serbia and who do not have a provided residence or cannot prove it, will be sent directly to that camp, for the purpose of protecting the state and citizens.

By Wednesday (March 18), 110 returnees from abroad were registered in the municipality of Bujanovac, whose self-isolation was controlled by the police.
