The Crédit Agricole Bank, in cooperation with the German Development Bank (KfW), has provided loans to finance energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, with the right to 10 % grants for renewable energy projects, or from 5 to 10% grants for energy efficiency projects, depending on the realized effect of the implemented investment, provided that the investment achieves a reduction of primary energy consumption or a reduction in CO2 emissions by at least 20%.
Entrepreneurs, cooperatives, registered farms in the active status and legal entities, which have up to 250 employees and an annual turnover of up to EUR 50 million, have the right to apply, considered on a consolidated basis according to the official financial reports for the last completed fiscal year.
The loans can be used for:
- Purchase of the equipment (production and industrial machines, biomass boilers, biomass dryers, solar panels, compressors for refrigerators, incubator stations, etc.).
- Purchase of new machinery (tractors, combines, etc.) and vehicles for business purposes (vans, trucks, etc.), which replace the old machinery/vehicles and achieve primary energy savings or a reduction in CO2 emissions of at least 20%.
- Investment in buildings (insulation of buildings, replacement of lighting, reconstruction of heating systems, ventilation systems, automatic doors and shutters, etc.).
- Investment in technology for the use of renewable energy sources (biogas plants, solar panels).
- Other investments that result in a reduction in primary energy consumption or CO2 emissions by at least 20%.
The loans are approved for a maximum period of up to 7 years, with a maximum loan amount for energy efficiency projects of up to EUR 1,000,000 or EUR 3,000,000 for renewable energy projects.
Following the realization of the investment, the KfW consultants evaluate the project and confirm whether the project was realized in accordance with KfW requirements, after which the loan is extended to the client.
