“It’s untrue that tailings spill from the tailings pond. There was only one excess situation that was quickly resolved, so that the sludge didn’t even get to the river,”Mr. Bojovic said.
The tailings pond is ensured by nine dams. According to Mr. Bojovic, four dams have already been drained, while the remaining dams are being drained.
“Piezometers showed that the water level in the tailings pond didn’t increase”, Director Bojovic said.
He confirmed that chemical reagents, including weakened cyanide, were used during the ore processing procedure.
