Michael Harvey, Head of USAID Mission to Serbia, awarded to representatives of nine municipalities certificates for the success achieved in improving their capabilities for reacting in local crisis situations.
In addition to representatives of Medvedja, the certificates were issued to representatives of Arilje, Bečej, Sečanj, Sjenica, Vlasotince, Vršac, Žitište and Zrenjanin.

Over the past years, the aforementioned municipalities were fighting with slide faces, torrential floods, fires, draughts and accidents in the chemical industry. These municipalities also showed initiative in improving the management system in local crisis situations.

Over 650 representatives of crisis situations management teams from sixty municipalities throughout Serbia completed training in planning methodologies, threat assessment and risk management. The training is funded by the USAID; it was said in the statement.
