Leskovac, Medvedja – There are six newly infected persons with the corona virus in Leskovac, while over the last three days alone, 15 people with symptoms of the corona virus were admitted to the COVID hospital in Leskovac, while 24 patients were being treated for the corona virus itself.

As the Director of the General Hospital in Leskovac, Nebojsa Dimitrijevic, explains, patients with symptoms of the virus are admitted to the Leskovac COVID hospital, and not just the infected persons.

Upon the semi-information that was circulating in the city that medical workers were once again affected by the virus, Dr. Dimitrijevic denied it, saying that only one pediatric nurse was among those infected.

“But she did not get infected at work. At the time when the test showed that she was positive, she was not at work and was not in contact with her colleagues or patients", Dr. Dimitrijevic said.

Five newly infected people have been confirmed in the municipality of Medvedja, and one whole family from the village of Gajtan is among them, said Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja.

According to him, all miners from the nearby Lece mine were tested for the corona virus, where two cases of the corona virus-infected persons had previously been confirmed.
