After being put out to tender, road maintenance in the territory of Vranje was for the first time entrusted to the “Saba Belca” company from Presevo.  According to Driton Etemi, the Director of the said company, snow and ice won’t surprise them.  

“We are ready for the start of the winter since we have over 20 snow plows. We have also purchased sufficient quantities of salt. We are prepared for the arrival of winter, and apart from Vranje, we have been made responsible for winter road maintenance in the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo, too”, said Mr. Etemi.

The Vranje-based “Vodovod” (Water-supply) company was, this year, entrusted with maintaining only the roads in the territory of Vranje Spa. Krsta Janjic, the Director of the “Vodovod” company, says that they are ready for the winter and that they have a sufficient supply of salt and aggregates, so that they could immediately begin cleaning the snow in case it suddenly falls.  

According to the officials of the Vranje-based “Road Company”, the first level of engagement of winter machinery is in force at that company.  They have 22 vehicles for winter rod maintenance, while six vehicles are used at the first level. They also provided 2, 500 tons of grit and salt each.  

The “Road Company” maintains, during winter, first and second-degree roads, or highways and regional roads in the Pcinj and Jablanica districts.
