Vranje – Because of yesterday's fires recorded at 15 locations in the Pcinj District, and in order to ensure a certain level of fire safety and avoid the possible consequences, the Emergency Management Office of the Mayor of Vranje warns all citizens not to burn stubble and to properly store flammable liquids, fuels and other substances.
The burning of stubble crops, garbage and plant debris is prohibited by the Fire Protection Act. It is forbidden to light a fire in the forest and at a distance of 200 meters from the edge of the forest, except in specific marked places. The person causing the fire is obliged to reimburse the fire-fighting and rescue unit for the costs of the intervention, in accordance with a special regulation.
Given the declared state of emergency, the penalties are far harsher. If it is determined that harvest remains have been burned on the farm, the farm loses the right to incentives in agriculture for a period of three years. If you notice a fire, it is necessary to immediately notify the fire- fighting unit by dialing 193.
