Bujanovac– The epidemiological situation in the municipality of Bujanovac was under control on the day when the state of emergency was lifted in the country, which is on May 6, 2020, while 7 cases of the infection had been registered since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, Dr. Lela Jovanovic, the Head of the Bujanovac Health Center, communicated to the municipal Emergency Management Staff.  

The most recent case of COVID-19 was confirmed on Saturday, May 2, while the results of all other residents of the municipality, from whom blood samples had been taken at the Health Center, were negative.

Dr. Jovanovic pointed out that apart from gradually returning to normalcy in almost all areas of life, health care institutions practically remained in a state of emergency.

“We are not done with the state of emergency and will continue to operate as before, which means by using enhanced protective measures and a special surgery for respiratory infections. We, as a municipality, have resisted the coronavirus so far and we must continue controlling it", she said.

In the thus-far fight against the coronavirus, the municipality of Bujanovac has lost two residents, three have been cured, while according to the latest information, two persons are being treated.
