The "Generator" association marked the completion of the “We-Here” campaign, which was aimed at raising awareness about the rights of minorities, by a festive event that was held at the hall of the Army Center in Vranje.
The "We – Here" campaign included a number of activities, such as youth activities, newspaper articles and the marking of important international dates, for the purpose of facilitating the inclusion of minority groups in society.
The activities were conducted in cooperation with the institutions and the young from Presevo, Bujanovac, Vranje and Vladicin Han, while representatives of the young local teams from the institutions working with the minorities conveyed their experiences, too.
In the opinion of Gordana Ristic, a coordinator of the “Generator" NGO, a major change in the project was achieved in the institutions dealing with minorities in terms of their openness.
She also emphasized the importance of training young people, which "Generator" had been doing for over a year.
"We bring to South Serbia experts from various institutions and organizations in Belgrade, as well as famous fighters for the rights of minorities, who talk about these issues at the classes in civic education, which is very important for the children," said Gordana Risitc. „
As part of the one- year “Equalize Me!” project, the "We-Here" campaign was implemented in the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac, Vranje and Vladicin Han.
The aim of the project was to make the society in these four municipalities in southern Serbia aware of the importance of respecting the rights of minorities, the fight against discrimination and inclusion.
