    Presevo – As part of the "Green World" NGO’s project "For Sustainable Environment", a training course was conducted for students of the "Skenderbeg" Grammar School in Presevo from November 14 to 16, 2008. The goal of the training was to enable the students for preparing projects and maintaining public relations, which are the skills necessary for obtaining the funds for the projects more easily. The said training was conducted by Redzep Iljazi (SCOPES Program Office Manager) and Armend Aliu (Director of the Office for Economic Development and Entrepreneurship of the Municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac).

    A training course for journalists on the right to free access to information and its use in the fight against corruption on the local level starts in Bujanovac today. The course, organized by the OSCE Mission to Serbia, will gather some 20 journalists from Bujanovac, Presevo and Medvedja to exchange experiences and discuss how the Law on Free Access to Information is applied and how it could contribute to fighting corruption. "Transparency Serbia" Program Director, Nemanja Nenadic, BETA news agency journalist, Zlatko Minic, and OSCE Mission experts will speak at the training course.

    The "Center for Democracy and Development of South Serbia" NGO and the regional press agency "JUGpress" are to organize a meeting in Bujanovac today. Speakers at the meeting include Oliver Ivanovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Kosovo and Metohija, Roberto Montella, Advisor to Head of OSCE Mission to Serbia, and Nagip Arifi, Deputy Mayor of Bujanovac. The topic to be discussed at the meeting is the future of South Serbia and Kosovo. This is the fifth in a row meeting organized as part of the project "Kosovo on the Other Side."     On the occasion of April 22, which is the Planet Day, the "Green World" NGO, along with the young from the Albanian, Serbian and Roma communities, organized the plantig of evergreen tree seedlings and decorative flowers in the garden of the building where the Office of the Coordination Body is situated in Presevo. The activity, under the title of the "Activator-Accelerator", was carried out in Presevo, Bujanovac and Vranje as part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ project.     Mr Nenad Djurdjevic, Director of the Office of the Co-ordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, along with his two advisors, Ms Danijela Nenadic and Ms Ana Brnabic, had a meeting with a group of 11 members of the International Affairs Society. They are all students of the University of Bristol, Great Britain. Members of the said group are currently on a stady trip to our country and they’re keenly interested in the national and international policy of our country, as well as in the Balkans. The meeting was held at the request of members of the International Affairs Society, who were fully briefed about the activities of the Office of the Co-ordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

    A recently reconstructed market in Bojnik is going to be officially opened at 11 am on Tuesday, April 15. The market will be opened by Mr. Jovica Arandjelovic, Mayor of Bojnik, Mr. Branko Jocic, State Secretary at the Serbian government’s Ministry of Infrastructure, Mr. Tom Torogood, Manager of the Municipal Improvement and Revival Program MIR2 and Mr. Branko Delibasic, a regional coordinator for MIR2 Program from the Serbian government’s Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. This important project was implemented as part of the MIR2 Program, while the overall value of the carried out works is 9.6 million dinars, out of which 6 million dinars were provided by the MIR2 Program donors, 1.9 million dinars by the Serbian government’s Coordination Body and the remaining amount of 1.7 million dinars was supplied from the budget of the municipality of Bojnik.
