Source: Narodne novine – Nis / Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, said that a meeting with representatives of five districts (Nis, Pirot, Toplica, Jablanica and Pcinj) would take place in the coming weeks. He also added that over half of the least developed municipalities in Serbia were located in that part of the country.

Source: Narodne novine – Nis / The new office of the Albanian National Council was officially opened in Bujanovac. This solved the problem of inadequate and temporary accommodation, which the National Council has used since its establishment, which was in June 2010, until now. The premises for the future work of the National Council were provided by the municipality of Bujanovac, while the renovation and refurbishment of the premises were carried out thanks to the National Council’s own funds. Fitting the premises out with office furniture, computers and other equipment, which amounted to nearly 10,000, was done by the European Union and the Government of Switzerland, through the European Partnership with Municipalities Program – EU PROGRES.

Source: Official Gazette – Nis / Bujanovac – A fire broke out near the village of Breznica, which is situated above Bujanovac. The fire started in rough terrain, where there is some unexploded ordnance, so that it impossible to extinguish it. There are only two fire crews monitoring it, said Vedran Taskovic, Fire Department Battalion Commander for the Pcinj district.

The Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja this year, too, provided school backpacks and supplies to first-grade students from the three municipalities. Pupils of the “9th.of May” primary school in the village of Reljan, which is situated in the municipality of Presevo, as well as those of "Branko Radicevic" and "Muharem Kadriu" elementary schools in the municipality of Bujanovac, were presented the school supplies and backpacks by Danijela Nenadic, Director of the Coordination Body, as well as by Ragmi Mustafa, President of the Municipality of Presevo, and Arber Pajaziti, Chief of Staff of the Bujanovac Municipality.

Source: Danas daily – Vranje, Bujanovac, Presevo – In comparison with the previous school year, a total of 2,532 first-grade students started attending primary schools yesterday in in seven municipalities of the in the Pcinj district, which shows that there are 440 fewer students this school year. The Department of the Ministry of Education in Vranje said that 256 primary and secondary school teachers, whose total number of classes ranged from five to 95 percent, were surplus teaches, and that "the process of taking care of them" was underway.

Source: Danas daily / Bujanovac, Presevo, Vranje – A forest fire in the wider mountainous area of the village of Dobrosin, which is situated sixteen kilometers southeast of Bujanovac, swept the forest terrain where there are still some cluster bombs, but the army, the residents and their property are protected, it was confirmed at the military base close to the administrative line with Kosovo.

According to this year's awards “MLADGRAD 2012”, Presevo, Ivanjica, Blace, Kikinda, Krupanj and Loznica are the municipalities that are most concerned about the youth in Serbia. The main prizes went to one of the oldest and to one of the youngest municipalities in Serbia – to Ivanjica, for its overall contribution to the improved position of young people in the local community, and to Presevo, for the provided public space.

The aim of the project is to improve the lives of marginalized people in South Serbia. It will be implemented until the first quarter of 2013 through the empowerment and support of 40 waste collectors.
