A call has been issued for the submission of investigative articles by journalists from Serbia for the annual EU award for investigative journalism.
Applications are submitted for research articles published from January 1 to December 31, 2019, which deal with freedom of expression, rule of law, transparency, abuse of power, basic human rights, corruption and organized crime.
The prize fund for Serbia in 2020 (for contributions from 2019) is 10,000 EUR. .
The first prize is 5,000 EUR, the second 3,000 EUR and the third 2,000 EUR.
Journalists and groups of journalists who work in any format (print media, online media, radio and TV) with papers published or broadcast in the media in Serbia in Serbian, as well as in minority or foreign languages can apply.
Only works published during the 2019 calendar year 2019 will be taken into account.
The EU Award for Investigative Journalism in the Western Balkans and Turkey aims to draw attention to and promote the outstanding achievements of investigative journalists and increase the visibility of quality investigative journalism in those countries.
By this call, the awarding of EU regional awards for investigative journalism in the Western Balkans and Turkey through the project "Raising the Quality of News and Independent Journalism in the Western Balkans and Turkey" continues.
The jury for the EU awards consists of media experts, editors, members of the scientific community and deserving journalists.
The deadline for submitting proposals is June 21, 2020.
The awards are presented annually in all six Western Balkan countries and Turkey.
