Bujanovac – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) called on employers with a hiring plan to participate in its program of workforce development that will help companies to hire and train new employees.
The program is conducted as part of the Sustainable Local Development Project, in cooperation with 32 local self-governments, while the USAID’s project will bear the cost of hiring employers, as well as the one of a two months’ long training of the young. During the training, the USAID’s project will provide candidates with a compensation amounting to 60 percent of the gross minimum wage, based on the Agreement on Professional Improvement. The training is intended for young people up to 30 years old and with at least a three-year vocational training.
Interested persons will be able to apply until November 17. The program of on-job training of young people will help private companies by enabling employers from the manufacturing and service sectors to quickly and easily find qualified workers, thus saving the time and money for selecting and engaging them. According to the USAID, the program will be useful to young people because it will show them the employers' needs and provide them with job training, which is ordinarily a significant investment for employers.
Entitled to participate in the program are all companies with five or more employees, with registered seats or business units in the municipalities and cities with which the USAID works, and they, among others, include the municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac.
Preference will be given to the employers who plan to hire new employees within six months after completion of the training of the young. The planned program of on-job training of young people is expected to begin in February and March next year.
