BUJANOVAC MUNICIPALITY ESTABLISHED THE STAFF FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, NUMEROUS STATE OF   EMERGENCY RESTRICTIONS INTRODUCED

Bujanovac – Regarding the declaration of a state of emergency in the country due to the corona virus, the Staff for Emergency Situations of the municipality of Bujanovac adopted, on Monday, a series of measures by which, among other things, the work of public sector employees is restricted, sports and betting facilities and are closed and the working hours of catering establishments are shortened.

A Crisis Staff was also formed, which consists of the Directors of the Health Center, the Pharmacy, the Center for Social Work, the Red Cross Secretary, the representative of the Municipal Protection and Rescue Office, the Head of the Inspection Department and the Chief of Staff for Emergency Situations.  

The Crisis Staff will be in charge of a 24-hour monitoring and coordination. The measures it has adopted are as follows:

 – The operation of cafes, nightclubs and restaurants in the territory of the municipality of Bujanovac is limited to the period from 8am to 6pm, including the additional conditions, whereby no more than 50 people can stay indoors, while the distance between the guests sitting in the gardens must be 1 meter and not more than 5 people may sit at a table.

 – The operation of all sports and betting facilities is banned.  

 – The Municipal Inspectorate was ordered to regularly monitor the implementation of these decisions, as well as of recommendations and orders of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

 – The municipal administration and public companies and institutions have reduced their working hours and will operate from 8am to 2pm, while the workers who are over 60 are exempt from work duties.

 – It is recommended that, wherever possible, in both the public and private sectors, work from home should be organized to minimize employee engagement and stay in the collective.

 – Public transport will be organized according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, which provide for the abolition of night lines and reduction of daily ones.

 – A sufficient number of buses shall be provided on the frequent lines to allow for the smooth transport of passengers at a safe distance of not less than 1 meter.

 – It was also ordered that bus drivers and conductors must wear disposable masks and gloves.

 – Institutions, organizations and companies have been ordered to procure disinfectants and hygiene products and regularly disinfect the premises and work surfaces.

Mayor Kamberi said that the above measures had been adopted and modeled on other cities and municipalities in the country and that they would be modified in accordance with the needs and orders of the Republican Government.

The Staff for Emergency Situations appealed at the session to religious communities to allow the believers to perform religious services at home.

“An appeal was made to the elderly citizens to respect the recommendations of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and to wash their hands frequently, and if they are older than 65, not to leave their apartments and houses,” it was said in the decision. 

All the citizens are required to be calm and not to spread panic, as well as to adhere to the advice and recommendations of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Health and other competent institutions.

As of Tuesday, March 17, people over the age of 65 are banned from leaving their homes, under the threat of a fine of 150,000 dinars. Prime Minister Ana Brnabic does not rule out the possibility of introducing curfew if a large number of citizens continue to be present on the streets.
