Leskovac – The Public Health Institute (PHI) Leskovac received 9,000 doses of seasonal flu vaccine for the territory of the district and distributed it to all health centers in the area of the district.

Vaccination against flu for the 2020/2021 season begins on October 1 at all health centers in the district.

Vaccination in the territory of the HC Leskovac will be performed at all infirmaries in the city and the villages.

“Persons who want to be vaccinated should contact their chosen doctors. The HC Leskovac will vaccinate those accommodated at and employed by the gerontology center, while the PHI will vaccinate healthcare staff ", it is said in the statement.  

Vaccination is recommended to:

– Persons from risk groups with chronic disorders of the pulmonary and cardiovascular system, as well as with metabolic disorders (including, above all, diabetes), renal disorders, persons with weakened immunity, etc.

– Persons accommodated and employed in gerontology centers and social protection institutions,

– Persons over 65 years of age,

– Persons employed in public services who are at risk,

-Employees of healthcare institutions.

Flu vaccination is carried out in order to reduce the number of ill persons and death rate, as well as to reduce the transmission of flu viruses in the family, collective and population.
