As part of the project “The Development of Infrastructure in Roma Settlements in South Serbia”, the works on the construction of a combined children's and sports playground in Bujanovac were completed in early August.  The main objective of the project was to improve the social infrastructure and to provide better living conditions in Roma settlements in South Serbia. In the “Morava 76” settlement in Bujanovac, there was no room for children to play, so that the construction of the said playground contributes to better social interaction among the residents of the settlement and the wider community, especially among young people and children.

In the “Morava 76” settlement, a playground with the equipment for children to play, benches and  lighting was built, and a mini pitch with goals and a basketball pole was paved  with asphalt for a total of 2,047,475.66 dinars. The project activities were funded by the “Caritas Luxembourg” Foundation, whose share in the total project cost was 71.43 %, and the municipality of Bujanovac, the share of which was 28.57 %. All the installed equipment meets the requirements of the relevant standards for playgrounds.
