Nebojša Stojanović is 36 years old and he and his family have been living in Switzerland for the past 12 years, where he works as a driver and a musician. This young man, who was born in the village of Zbevac, comes to his home village at least four times a year to visit his brother and sister. He also built a comfortable family home there.
He helped his brother with the opening of a tire repair shop in the village Davidovac, while he provided assistance to his sister regarding a dental clinic in Bujanovac.
Nebojsa doesn’t want to keep the money he has earned, his energy, will and love just for himself, but he wishes to share them with his village that he loves immensely.
It’s no wonder he is the main initiator of the activity for buying the abandoned houses and farms in the village, where larger families would settle. The village would revive, while the classrooms would be filled with the murmur of students. He wishes to organize the people from this region and establish an association. He is familiar with the fate of many extremely poor families and that’s why he decided to launch his activity by buying a house and some farm land for the Stamenkovic family from the mountain village Smiljevici near Vranje. That’s how he completed the first task that he had set for himself.
He emphasizes the desire and the will of the inhabitants of Zbevac to accept his activity and help him as much as they can.
“The alpha and omega of all our activities in the village is Sasa Cvetkovic, a neighbor and a veterinarian, who is determined to revive the village, "said Nebojsa.
“Our village of Zbevac can’t be found anywhere else. Almost every street in the village is paved, and we have a central primary school for all Serbian villages in the vicinity. Then, there is a beautiful church, a health center, a veterinary clinic and the “Kondiva” confectionery plant. In the neighboring village of Ristovac, which is connected to our village, there is a market, both regular and cattle one, which meets the needs of the entire municipalities of Vranje and Bujanovac. Vranje and Bujanovac are around 15 kilometers away from the village, while there is a regular bus service several times a day. We have electricity, as well as water from the water supply network, while each house has a well with a high-quality drinking water. We also have telephone lines, cable and satellite television, everything, "says Nebojsa.
His next assignment is to continue buying the abandoned houses and farms in the village and to continue settling new families in them.
“We intend to buy a new house and some farm land for the family of Radmila Drljaca, who is a refugee from Bihac. She also has four children and is a victim of domestic violence. We are looking for a suitable house at a reasonable price. I would be glad if others would get involved in our campaign. We got in touch with the humanitarian organization "Serbs for Serbs" and we hope that they will help. We shall revive our village, that's for sure, "said Nebojsa, a man who decided to make his dream come true.
