TWO COMPETITIONS FOR WORK IN GERMANY

Leskovac – On January 25, the National Employment Office (NEO) announced the competition for the recruitment of nurses and medical technicians in the Federal Republic of Germany, which will be open until February 18.

The number of medical staff that will be hired for work in Germany is not limited.

Required by the competition are medical technicians and nurses working in general or pediatric wards, who would be doing the jobs of  health care workers, including work in hospitals and homes for the elderly, in the workplace of  health care assistants, until their diplomas are recognized. They would, thereupon, be assigned to do the jobs of qualified health care workers, whereby they would gain other benefits related to the amount of their salaries and working conditions.

Applicants must have completed secondary medical school, the department for nurses-medical technicians engaged in working in general or pediatric wards.

“Preference will be given to the applicants who can speak German. It is necessary to have minimal knowledge of German at the A2 level. It is not necessary to have a certificate of knowledge of the German language or, if a candidate gets short-listed, his/her knowledge of the language will be tested. Among the officially approved candidates, priority shall be given to those who can speak the language well. This competition makes it possible for candidates to attend a course in the German language and obtain a certificate that is recognized by the German government, "said Marija Stevanovic, the Head of the Mediation in Employment Department at the Leskovac NEO branch office.

When it comes to the documentation, applicants should submit a cover letter in German, a CV in German and Serbian, a certified copy of the diploma on completion of education and a certified copy of the evidence of the passed professional exam. Those who get short-listed will be entitled to free five-day training in coping with living in Germany, so that they could quickly get used to the new working conditions.

The first interview will be held at the regional center in Nis in mid-March.

Another competition is to take place in June, while interviews with the candidates will take place in September.

The concluded employment contract is for a definite period of time until the candidate’s diploma is recognized, while a new contract for a definite or indefinite period of time is, thereafter, offered.

Candidates will then be able to apply for a residence and work permit in the Federal Republic of Germany. Earnings amount to 1,900 euros in gross amount until the diplomas are recognized, while the employer pays travel expenses and provides or participates in part of the costs relating to the accommodation and food for the first 12 months.

The competition for the recruitment of nurses and medical technicians is part of the agreement on mediation and temporary employment of workers, who are Serbian nationals, in the Federal Republic of Germany, and is part of the "Triple Win" project, implemented by the German Association for International Cooperation GIZ and the German Employment Agency, in cooperation with the National Employment Office (NEO).

The project began to be implemented in 2015.
