Vladicin Han – A regional training in project planning and writing, which was dedicated to local teams of professionals from the institutions and organizations working with minorities in Bujanovac, Presevo, Vranje and Vladicin Han, was held in Vladicin Han.
The training was attended by 26 training beneficiaries from 22 institutions and organizations that work with minorities in the territories of the above- mentioned municipalities, such as social welfare centers, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, health centers, police departments, the media and non-governmental organizations dealing with minority rights. The training was held at the new "Connection" Center in Vladicin Han, which is equipped with modern computer equipment, as well as with the additional IT equipment and educational software for people with physical, sensory, intellectual or emotional disabilities. It was built owing to the European Union’s funds, as part of the cross-border cooperation.
Yesterday, professionals from institutions and civil society organizations underwent the basic training in planning and preparation of project proposals, which will enable them to jointly plan and implement partnership projects in the future, for which they will themselves provide funds from the available funds in the country and abroad, primarily from the EU funds.
The trainees had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the European Union’s funds, which will in the future be open to Serbia and will be available for the institutions and organizations dealing with human rights, minorities and education, healthcare, safety and security etc.
In addition to the range of different programs that are already being implemented in Serbia and those that will be available during the accession process, the training beneficiaries were also acquainted with the basics of project planning, the analysis of the involved parties and the issues of planning the activities for solving specific problems in the field, including a drop of Roma children in kindergartens and schools, lack of access to public buildings for persons with disabilities and other groups of citizens and poor inter-sectoral cooperation in the field of human and minority rights.
The said regional training was organized by the “Generator” association from Vranje, as part of the "Equalize Me" project, which is dedicated to raising public awareness about the respect for the rights of minorities in South Serbia, and in which 56 institutions and organizations from the territory of four municipalities in South Serbia were actively involved. The project is implemented with the financial support of the EU Delegation to Serbia, through the EIDHR program.
