Young people in Bujanovac and Presevo got youth centers that should enable them to quickly achieve economic independence and potentially greater participation in decision making at the local level.
“The idea was to create some space for the gathering of young and creative people, and to give them the opportunity to learn something new. At the same time, our goal is to encourage them to apply their knowledge in practice. They will have our support in everything they do”, said Maja Micic, Director of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights.
Within the youth centers’ programs, the young in these municipalities will be offered internships in civil society organizations, attendance of courses in foreign languages and information technology, training in journalism, as well as participation in workshops on "How to start your own business”.
"We inform young people in Bujanovac and Presevo that there is a chance that things in their environment will run better, owing to their activism, education and the support they will get through this program”, said Bogdan Gavanski, Acting Director of the Institute for Sustainable Communities , while the mayor of Presevo, Ragmi Mustafa, promised support of the local authorities and urged the young to take advantage of the opportunity offered.
