Medvedja – The Special Rehabilitation Hospital "Geyser" in Sijarinska Spa participated in the 18th International Fair of Tourism and active rest, which was held at the Nis-based “Cair” hall from March 30 to April 1, 2017.
The employees of the "Geyser" hospital, together with the Tourist Organizations of Leskovac, Medvedja, Bojnik and Vlasotince, presented the institution where they work.
Radivoje Savic, the Head of “Geyser’s” marketing section, said that the facility was recognized for its unique natural phenomenon – a geyser, which was the first thing offered to visitors.
"In addition, “Geyser" offers to the visitors a medical unit and a number of therapies, such as underwater massage by mineral water, mud and electro therapies, as well as kinesitherapy rooms, where individual and group exercises are done under the supervision of a physiotherapist,” Mr. Savic said.
He underscored that many interesting events, which attracted a large number of visitors, especially those from South Serbia, were organized in Sijarinska Spa during the summer months.
"This year, we are going to organize the "Geyser Nights” event, which lasts for around ten days, for the 20th time in a row. We will also organize the "Golden Pot of Geyser" event for the seventh consecutive time", Mr. Savic said.
According to him, the Special Rehabilitation Hospital "Geyser" had a significant increase in the number of overnight stays in the previous year, and the expectations were that the trend would continue during the current year, too.
"Over 50 percent of our visitors are from Vojvodina. These are the groups that we managed to attract at the end of the 1990’s, which keep coming here twice a year, in spring and in autumn, ", Mr.Savic said.
He pointed out that some of the organizations that continually brought their members to "Geyser" for rest and rehabilitation included the Federation of Disabled Workers from Zrenjanin and the Associations of Disabled Persons from Novi Sad, Indjija, Batajnica, Stara Pazova, Nova Pazova and Sremska Mitrovica.
