THIRD GENERATION OF SCOLARSHIP HOLDERS FROM SOUTH SERBIA IN BELGRADE

On Fridy, November 18, 2011, scholarships will be awarded to the third generation of secondary school students by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. This year, scholarships will be awarded to 233 secondary school students, which menas that 27 more scolarships will  be awarded in comparison with the last year.

On Fridy, November 18, 2011, scholarships will be awarded to the third generation of secondary school students by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. This year, scholarships will be awarded to 233 secondary school students, which menas that 27 more scolarships will  be awarded in comparison with the last year.

Prority was  given to secondary school students without either one or both parents, while other scholarship award criteria included the secondary school students’ social status and their school marks in the previous school year. 114 secondary school students from Presevo, 87 from Bujanovac and 32 from Medvedja received the scholarships. Every scholarship holder will be getting six thousand dinars per month until the end of  the school year. This is the third time that the Coordination Body awards this type of scholarships, the aim of which is promotion of the integrations, peace and stability in the municipalities in South Serbia.

On November 18, all scholarship holders will spend the entire day in Belgrade. They will firstly visit the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, where, at a reception,  scholarship contracts will be ceremonioulsy given to them by Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, Speaker of the National Assembly, and Minister Milan Markovic, President of the Coordination Body. By tradition, the secondary school students will, thereupon, meet with Boris Tadic, President of the Republic of Serbia.

Before returning to their municipalities, the Coordination Body’s secondary school scholarship holders will do a sightseeing tour of Belgrade, which the majority of them will see for the first time. The sighseeng tour of Belgrade was organized by the city administration of Belgrade. The Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia is obliged to Boris Tadic, President of the Republic of Serbia, Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, Speaker of the National Assembly and to Dragan Djilas, Mayor of Belgrade, for having supported the implementation of this important project.
