Unexploded bombs from 1999 are on 150 locations in Serbia, some of which are at a depth of 20 meters, the Center for Demining stated.
The area containing ammunition includes nearly 2.5 million square meters, mostly in the municipalities of Bujanovac, Sjenica, Tutin, Uzice, Raska and Nis.
When it comes to the municipality of Bujanovac, there are groups of mines in an area of 2.2 million square meters. The aforementioned mines date back to the conflict that lasted in that area from 2000 to 2002.
The most recent mine removal activity in the municipality of Bujanovac was undertaken near the village of Breznice last fall.
