Medvedja – Forty young people got employed at a new public company for the production of pellets "Jablanica Eco" in Medvedja and they are now being trained to work in the production.
The plant is located on the premises of the bankrupt “Termovent" company. The equipment in the amount of 380. 000 euros was donated by the Development Fund of Slovenia, while the EU PROGRESS Program allocated 100. 000 euros for the construction of the facility, as well as another 10,000 euros for the workers’ training. The local self-government participated in the funding, too.
106 residents of Medvedja applied in the open completion, so that it wasn’t easy for the selection commission to make a choice", said the President of the multinational municipality Slobodan Draskovic.
“Care has been taken to respond to the demands of production, since work will be done here round-the- clock. The received include only five persons over the age of 30, while we also took the gender and national background of the applicants into account", said Mr. Draskovic, denying the rumors that the applicants got employment thanks to their belonging to a specific political party.
The machines are expected to start working next week, while the plant’s Director Marko Stojanovic claims that the market has already been provided.
"We will be working for both domestic and foreign customers, especially for those in Slovenia," said Mr. Stojanovic.
