Belgrade – The Government of the Republic of Serbia, at the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans' and Social Affairs, reached a Conclusion by which it is recommended that employees who do their work from home or telework on a daily basis during the state of emergency use the rest of their annual leave for 2019 in accordance with the law or by June 30, 2020.
It is also recommended that the employers, who are, during the state of emergency, unable to organize the work process and have referred their employees to being absent from work in accordance with the law, give priority to the use of annual leave, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans' and Social Affairs said.
Under the Conclusion, employers may allow the use of the remainder of the 2019 annual leave until December 31, 2020 for the employees who regularly work at their workplace during the state of emergency.
“We want to make it possible for our citizens to keep their jobs during the state of emergency, but at the same time we are thinking of employers, for whom it is not easy in this situation, either. That is why we will try to equally help all citizens of Serbia in various ways and by all the new measures adopted. We will primarily make it possible for them to be healthy, safe and able to exercise all the rights that belong to them," Minister Zoran Djordjevic said.
