Sjenica – The Academic Initiative "Forum 10" NGO from Novi Pazar  organized last weekend in Sjenica a training course  entitled "The Creation of Minority Youth Leaders", which was attended by 15 or so young people from Sandzak and South Serbia.

“The topics discussed in the training course included the practical socio-political problems in the southern and southwestern Serbia. These problems were linked to the use of social networks for the promotion of youth activism in minority communities",  said Fahrudin Kladnicanin, the Head of the said NGO.

According to him, the training course is part of the project "Youth Minority Leaders," which is supported by the OSCE Mission to Serbia. Mr. Kladnicanin pointed out that one of the objectives of the training was to provide young people with the guidance on how to use social networks to promote youth activism and political activities. The training included theoretical and practical parts.  Journalist of the Belgrade-based  daily "Today" worked with the young in the first part of the training, while  bloggers and the Internet activists from Belgrade, Krusevac and Novi Sad worked with them in the second part.

The backbone of the project is the development of a first blog, where minority issues of the Albanian, Roma and Bosniak minorities will be discussed , and where the young, over the next three months, will be posting their analyzes of and comments on the social and political issues in their communities. Over the next fifteen days, the project will  be presented to the young and to youth offices in Bujanovac, Novi Pazar, Tutin and Prijepolju, as well as to the Albanian and Bosniak National Councils.

The final activity of the project is a panel discussion "Youth Voices", which will be held in Tutin and which will bring together the young from South Serbia and Sandzak.
